Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Spring is here and so is the “Early Bird” registration for the City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation’s youth outdoor soccer (ages 5 to 14) play.

Esports gaming room coming to Muskegon park as youth recreation interests change

MUSKEGON, MI – A different kind of sport is coming to a city park in Muskegon.

An esports video gaming room is planned for the community building at Smith Ryerson Park in the city’s Jackson Hill neighborhood.

The room will be turned into an esports center where groups and organizations can hold competitions, workshops and other community programs centered on video gaming.

The idea is to attract young people who are not as much into traditional recreational sports programming as they are video gaming.

WATERVILLE — When Ken Walsh, CEO of the Alfond Youth & Community Center, moved to Waterville in 1992, he was told by community members how the city was once a hockey town.
