Amazon tests tool that lets some brands contact shoppers

Amazon is quietly rolling out a way for some sellers on its site to engage with shoppers, in a move that represents a departure from its historically tight controls over customer data.

Last week, Amazon began piloting a tool that enables U.S. companies that are part of its Brand Registry program to email marketing materials to shoppers who have opted to “follow” their brands. These companies can then notify those shoppers when they launch a new product or promotion.

Fully vaccinated people can travel in U.S. without tests or quarantines

People who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 can travel freely in the U.S., as long as they remain masked on planes, buses and trains, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Friday.

It is unclear how much impact the new guidance will have. People are already traveling and making decisions on their own. American Airlines reported Monday that the company’s bookings have jumped to 90 percent of what they were before the pandemic.

Rapid tests and 5-day quarantines could help bring back air travel

Standardized coronavirus tests and shorter quarantine times could make air travel safer and easier as the pandemic continues, according to a new study by researchers at UCSF.

Airports that regularly use so-called PCR — polymerase chain reaction — or on-site rapid tests could detect nearly 90% of travelers who don’t show symptoms before they board aircraft, according to a large-scale computer simulation designed by the research team.

SA-bound Pak team to undergo four tests before departure

ISLAMABAD: South Africa-bound Pakistan cricketers and support staff will be undergoing four Covid-19 tests before their departure to play two limited-overs series against the hosts starting with the opening One-Dayer on April 2 in Pretoria.
