Tykee Smith Talks Departure From WVU & Which Schools He’s Heard From

Last week, West Virginia sophomore safety Tykee Smith shocked everyone by announcing that he would be entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal. 

During his two years in a Mountaineer uniform, Smith has tallied 114 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, 13 pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Smith has only started 17 games in his collegiate career but is quickly becoming one of the most respected defenders in the game.

Dylan Smith seals Lions departure with immediate effect

The Lions have announced that they have agreed to a ‘mutual separation’ with loosehead prop Dylan Smith with immediate effect.

Smith has played his entire professional career at the Lions, making his senior debut in the 2014 Vodacom Cup, with his Currie Cup and Super Rugby debuts following in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

The 27-year-old, who has played over 50 games for the Joburg side, has recently been rotated with Sti Sithole during the Super Rugby Unlocked and 2020 Currie Cup tournaments.
