Delhi Government Announces Summer Vacation In Schools From May 11 To June 30

New Delhi:

The Delhi government’s education department has announced summer vacation for all government and government-aided schools in the national capital. The summer vacations will be observed from May 11 to June 30, as per the official notification released by the Directorate of Education (DOE).

In view of the COVID-19 situation, students will not be called to schools, however, vacation staff can be called by schools principals for any school-related work such as academic, admission, examination etc., as per DoE’s order.

France to close schools, ban domestic travel as virus surges

PARIS (AP) — French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday announced a three-week nationwide school closure and a month-long domestic travel ban, as the rapid spread of the virus ramped up pressure on hospitals.

In a televised address to the nation, Macron said new efforts are needed as “the epidemic is accelerating.”

It’s a departure from the government’s policy in recent months, which has focused on regionalized restrictions. School closures in particular had been seen as a very last resort.
