2 teens shot after leaving recreation center in South Philadelphia, police say

Two teens were shot after leaving a South Philadelphia recreation center, according to police.

It happened on the 2000 block of South 7th Street a few blocks away from the Police Athletic League around 7 p.m. Thursday.

An 18-year-old was shot once in the foot and a 19-year-old was shot once in the leg. Both victims were taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.

Police believe it may have been a drive-by shooting. FOX 29’s Dave Schratwieser reports the teens just left the recreation center after playing basketball.

Standoff at Honolulu hotel ends as armed man kills himself, police say

Honolulu police said SWAT teams entered the room at the Kahala Hotel and Resort where the man was holed up at 3:30 a.m. (9:30 a.m. ET) Sunday and found him dead with self-inflicted wounds, according to CNN affiliate KITV.

No other injuries were reported, KITV said.

Police investigating shooting outside Downtown Memphis hotel

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say shots were fired Sunday night outside a new hotel in Downtown Memphis, damaging the hotel and striking a vehicle.

According to police, a man walking in the area of South Front and Beale Street began firing shots into the air around 10 p.m., striking one man’s vehicle and two windows at the Hyatt Centric hotel. Bullet fragments were found inside two rooms at the hotel, investigators said.

No one was hurt, police said.

Former police officer found dead in his N.J. hotel room, authorities say

A former police officer from Passaic County was found dead Thursday morning in a room at the Ramada Inn in Totowa, authorities said.

Gary Potenzone Jr., 41, was found by hotel workers who entered his room about 11:40 a.m., according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Carmen Veneziano.

Totowa police were called to the hotel and were able to identify Potenzone’s body, Valdes and Veneziano said in a joint statement.
