Frisco begins 1st phase of improvements at Peninsula Recreation Area

Frisco is pushing forward with plans to revamp the Peninsula Recreation Area.

During the Frisco Town Council meeting on Tuesday, March 23, officials signed off on a contract for architectural and design work on a new Village Center building at the Frisco Adventure Park.

In 2019, Frisco began efforts to bring a new operations building to the site but ultimately decided to pump the breaks and consider a more holistic scope of work for the park’s future.

Jaggers Camp to close next week for construction project

Employees of the Roswell field office of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management are working to bolster the recreational opportunities on its public lands in the region, and two Lincoln County projects are examples of that effort.

Infrastructure construction just started for an expansion of the Rob Jaggers Camp at the Fort Stanton-Snowy River National Conservation Area, said Assistant Field Manager Randy Howard with the Roswell Field Office, which is part of the Pecos District Office of the New Mexico division of the federal agency.

Radium Recreation Site to see improvements on campground, boat launch

The Bureau of Land Management Kremmling Field Office plans to begin construction on the campground and adjacent boat launch at the Radium Recreation Site along the Upper Colorado River.

Both the campground and boat launch will be closed for eight to 10 weeks beginning April 1 as weather permits. The upstream boat launch and restrooms will remain open for public use during construction, BLM officials said in a release.

Richmond Heights Recreation Commission recommends several improvements, and closure of pool in 2021

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Completion of upgrades at the city’s Kiwanis Lodge, making improvements to Desan Park and Greenwood Farm, and keeping closed in 2021 the swimming pool at Community Park are a few of things the recreation department recommended, through Recreation Director Rick Dula, during Tuesday’s (Feb. 2) online City Council Service and Recreation Committee meeting.
