As more Americans get vaccinated and more states lift their restrictive measures, the travel and tourism sector is already finding itself behind the curve, with employees from hotels to airport coffee shops saying they are stretched to their limit.

“Between January and today, the amount of people that are flying now is absolutely asinine, it’s crazy. I wasn’t expecting it, not yet, maybe summer,” said Dymond Blossom, a flight attendant for a regional subsidiary of American Airlines. As of March, her hours have nearly doubled, she said.

Injunction against quarantine hotel policy denied, constitutional hearing to go ahead

TORONTO — A constitutional rights advocacy group has lost its bid for an injunction against the federal government’s quarantine hotel policy designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Canadian Constitution Foundation had asked for the injunction while waiting for the courts to rule on whether the policy for incoming international travellers is constitutional.

The foundation was acting on behalf of five individuals who had to leave Canada for compassionate purposes – three of them to attend to a dying parent.

The Lompoc Recreation Division is gauging interest from community members ahead of a scheduled launch of the Lompoc Outdoor Community Market in late spring.

Community members — both individuals and businesses — are welcome to be included in the February and March planning workshops, which will cover topics relating to seller’s permits, business tax license requirements and the registration process, according to city officials.
