RED BLUFF, Calif. – Authorities are investigating human remains that were found in the slough portion of the U.S. Forest Service Lake Red Bluff Recreation area on March 28.
A citizen called the sheriff’s office who located what he believed to be human remains in the slough portion of the recreation area at 1000 Sale Lane in Red Bluff, according to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office.
The citizen then led deputies to the location, where a human skull, pelvis, leg and arm bones were located. The bones were collected, and deputies said a further search of the area is planned for later this week.
At this point, deputies said foul play is not suspected. The identity of the victim is unknown at this time.
